Ingredient facts:

  • Brahmi more commonly known as Bacopa is the star nutrient. Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb which has been well researched, to support cognitive function.
  • Bacopa has been shown to improve memory retention of information. There is also evidence of an antioxidant effect of Brahmi in the hippocampus area of the brain.
  • Supplementing with N-Acetyl Carnitine has been shown to diminish memory loss and cognitive impairment associated with aging. It promotes healthy brain functioning and provides oxidative support, thereby reducing oxidative damage. It also supports healthy nerve function throughout the body, particularly associated with poor blood sugar control and/or induced by medications.
  • Magnesium Glycinate: A highly absorbable form of magnesium which is less irritating to the digestive tract. Magnesium is the “relaxation” mineral and essential in any stress and cognitive support programme.
  • Magnesium deficiency is also very common and supplementation would be beneficial.
  • Zinc Sulphate: Zinc is an important supplement for cognitive health since we often do not obtain or absorb adequate amounts through our diet. Many trials have shown that sub-clinical zinc deficiency can impair brain function in adults and children.
  • Vitamin B5 concentrates in the adrenal glands, where it helps to counteract the negative effects of stress and depression.
  • Phosphatidylserine (PS) is the major phospholipid in the myelin sheaths of the brain’s neurons. In numerous studies it has been shown to improve memory, concentration and attention span. In addition, PS counteracts the release of excessive cortisol that can occur with excessive stress.
  • Ginkgo Biloba alleviates the cerebral insufficiency that usually accompanies Age Associated Memory Impairment (AAMI).
  • Ginkgo Biloba improves alertness by increasing the brain’s alpha wave rhythms and decreasing the brain’s theta wave activity. It improves attention span, mental function, mood and memory.
  • B Vitamins: Poor memory can occur because of a Vitamin B deficiency. Additionally, elevated homocysteine levels can cause memory impairment, therefore the Vitamin B’s, in particular Vitamin B12, is important as a methyl donor, for decreasing elevated homocysteine levels. Also, Vitamin B12 improves memory due to its role in the synthesis of endogenous Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) within the neurons of the brain.
